Description
Unveiled at the 1999 Geneva motor shop as the Puma ST160 concept designed and built by Ford's rally specialist division in Boreham before the release of the production car the Racing Puma in 2000. Limited to just 500 cars all built by Tickford (responsible for the Capri Turbo and other specialist Ford projects) Only available in Ford Racing Blue a colour only used on the Escort Cosworth Focus RS previously.
Widened by 90mm from the standard puma with Aluminium front wings and widened steel bodywork to the rear as well as unique front bumper with carbon fibre splitter as well as wider rear bumper including cutouts to fit the wider track around the rear lights.
The 1.7 litre engine was upgraded from the standard Puma with upgraded camshaft, air intake, exhaust by Janspeed and revised engine management system teamed with strengthened manual gearbox, suspension tuned and set up by stig blomqvist of WRC fame and 4 piston brakes by Alcon.
This particular example car 378 of 500 first registered October 2000 by Allen Ford of Coventry shows just 4 former keepers, 70,000 miles and MOT till August next year.
Presented in very original condition without modifications and sold with large history file including original Puma book pack including Racing Puma supplement as well as service book with 15 stamps plus well organised file of all previous MOT certificates, receipts for maintenance and additional servicing and original Racing Puma Brochure.
Please note MOT history shows the mileage of the vehicle in 2012 at the time of MOT to be 64,533 then 67,836 in 2014 and 67,138 in 2015. This is due to an input error of 67,836 in 2014 which should have been 65,836. Confirmed by a signed declaration by the MOT tester included in the history file.
It is our understanding this can be rectified by the DVLA but will be the responsibility of the buyer.
