Description
Sold new by Jennings ford of Morpeth for £449 plus a part exchanged MK1. Ordered from new with clear plastic seat covers at a cost of £7 (which still remain today) Other options include push button transistor radio and aerial.
Owned by the same owner and then subsequently parked up in a garage during 1965 before being sold and removed in 1989 and returned to road at this point showing only 19,000 miles. The car was in very original condition and reconditioned to a show standard where it won many shows in the 90s.
Owned by the second owner till 1995 where by this point it showed 28,500 miles and was sold to a scottish collector where it became very well know in the Scottish show scene. The car was then sold back to the second owner in 2020, now showing 34,500 miles.
Once back with the second owner the car was subject to a full bare metal respray in its original Kenilworth Blue with contrasting black roof. The original seat covers still remained on the car although the clear sections had worn so have now been replaced but the original sides etc are still on the car. The interior has not been touched from new. The focus of the restoration was on the bodywork, the underside, mechanicals and all chrome work was stripped and redone to a spectacular standard.
Sold with a larger history file detailing the cars history from 1959 to the present day, original brown log book, receipts for the Ford seat covers and the car itself.
Arguably the best Consul in existence finished with an obsessive attention to detail.
