Launched in 1955 the Bentley S1 was based on the Rolls Royce Silver Cloud and was the last production Bentley to have an independent chassis. Fitted with the 4,887cc straight six used in other Bentley & Rolls Royce cars of the time.
Producing 3,538 cars before replacing with the V8 powered S2 in 1959 the S1 featured aluminium doors, bonnet and boot lid as well as seating for upto 6!
This particular S1 was built on the 1st of June 1956 and delivered to its original owner the Right Honourable Viscount Rothermere the man responsible for the Daily Mail and Mail on Sunday newspapers before being sold in 1959 to a family in County Durham.
Owned by the current owner for over a decade, he has had the interior partially retrimmed to match the original.
Finished in Tudor Grey with contrasting light grey Connoley leather interior with exquisite wooden dashboard, door caps and rear picnic trays.
