Everyone knows an MGB! Arguably the most popular British classic car, and for good reason. Produced between 1962 and 1980 the MGB is the quintessential British sports car. Light with a revy 1800cc 4-cylinder engine sending drive via a manual gearbox to the rear wheels.
The replacement to the MGA the MGB sold in huge numbers with over 500 thousand being produced, ahead of its time using a unibody structure instead of the normal body over frame design of most cars of the time giving the MGB great rigidity and in turn sharp handling due to its lighter weight.
The MGB was one of the first production cars to use crumple zones to protect its occupants from impact.
This early model car built in 1964 and first registered with the DVLA on the 1st of June 1991 is arguably the most sought after spec of early “pull handle spec” in Tartan red with black interior and wire wheels.
Undergoing extensive work by Wey Classics -MG specialists based in Guildford in 2018 including Carburettor rebuild, valve clearances and timing, rebuilt front suspension, full brake rebuild, rear hubs, new exhaust and a service costing over £3600.
As well as a new cylinder head, wiring loom, Dynamo, plugs and leads and new hood in 2018 costing £2673.
A stunning example of a very usable classic British sports car supplied with extensive history and receipts and the original book pack. Pricings have been rising on quality examples in the last 2-3 years.
